About Jacqui

Having an extensive background medical administration, I made a pivotal decision to refocus my career on supporting cancer patients. During a close friend’s hospitalization and subsequent throat and lung cancer diagnosis, I offered comfort through gentle touches known as ‘holds,’ placing my hands on her arms, legs, hands, shoulders, and forehead. This experience affirmed my calling, leading me to explore massage and other supportive therapies for individuals battling cancer. Motivated by a deep desire to create a meaningful impact, I embarked on a career transition aimed at providing comprehensive holistic support to individuals navigating the challenges of cancer.

My Passion for Health

With a strong drive for knowledge in wellbeing and healthcare, I’ve obtained a range of interconnected qualifications. I am certified in Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy, specialising in conditions like lymphoedema, lipoedema, and venous disease. Additionally, I’m a qualified Remedial Massage and Oncology Massage Therapist. Recently, I graduated as a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing Science, expanding my practice to include wound management and fitting Qld Health compression garments. I’m passionate about accurate client assessment and evidence-based treatment, making me a prominent figure in the management of lymphoedema and lipoedema.

Training and Teaching

I currently juggle multiple roles, including conducting a range of courses from informational to advanced training, and managing a busy part-time private practice in Gympie. My practice specialises in treating patients with lymphoedema, lipoedema, venous disease, and post-surgery oedema. To ensure I provide the best care, I maintain a commitment to ongoing study and staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based research.
